People sometimes worry that the size of their feelings is itself a flaw. Strong love, longing or grief is not automatically unhealthy. What matters is how the relationship affects each person's safety, freedom and wellbeing.
Intensity is not a diagnosis
There is no threshold that makes a feeling unhealthy just because it is intense. Uncertainty, distance and change can make emotions louder. What matters is how you act and how the situation is affecting your life.
Look at the effects
Are you sleeping, working or studying, seeing friends, and making ordinary choices? Can each person say no? If these parts of life are shrinking, take that seriously.
Care can include space
A relationship can matter deeply without becoming the only source of comfort or identity. Reconnecting with routines and trusted people is not a betrayal of love. If distress is persistent or overwhelming, a qualified professional can help you think it through.
