People use “limerence” for an intense preoccupation with someone, often when they are unsure whether the feeling is returned. The word may help describe what is happening; it is not a clinical diagnosis.
An experience, not an identity
People may describe replaying interactions, idealising someone or feeling unusually dependent on signs of interest. Similar experiences can have different causes. A label alone cannot explain yours.
Uncertainty can keep attention focused
When interest is unclear, each small signal can seem important. Try to look at consistent behaviour and direct communication, not only at moments that support a hoped-for interpretation.
Return attention to your wider life
Reduce repeated checking if it is adding distress. Reconnect with friends and routines, and consider talking with a mental health professional if preoccupation is interfering with daily life. A person's boundaries remain important regardless of how intense your feelings are.
