It is tempting to think that if someone loves us enough, we will never doubt ourselves. Real emotions are more complicated: reassurance can help, but it cannot always undo old fears or guarantee a feeling of certainty.
Reassurance has limits
A partner can listen and show care, but no one can be available every minute or answer every worry permanently. This limit is not proof that love is absent.
Build more than one source of steadiness
Self-compassion, supportive friendships, meaningful activities and clear agreements can all help. This does not mean you should suppress reasonable concerns about how someone treats you.
Talk about needs with care
Try a specific request and invite a real conversation. If insecurity is persistent, intense or tied to painful past experiences, a counsellor can help you explore it without blaming yourself.
